is it wrong for me to get a bunch of construction mods for making the dupes lifes better

Recommended Posts

all i see in lets plays and such are just colonies where they do the bear minimum for making the lives of dupes better besides food and wall paper, most of them just get stuck in a similar sleeping situation as the grandparents in Charlie and the chocolate factory besides ones that need special sleeping arrangements like needing lightbulbs and such, some even get stranded on asteroids by themselves with no way of getting back to the main one or not allowed to open up the cryotankss with dupes inside them, and all i ask myself is "why don't these dupes get good lifes?" so should i get mods so that i can make nice houses and such for dupes to have a nice way of life?

If you want your dupes to live well then do whatever you want to make that happen!  Always remember that this is a single player game and you can do whatever you want with it.  There's no "wrong" way to play, there's only YOUR way :)

At least Klei gave us a positive trait for this. A lot of the YouTubers play with an emphasis on building big elaborate projects.  These usually take precedence over making a pretty base full of amenities.  Adding a recreation room is one of the very last things I build in a colony. On the other hand, in Rimworld, I'm all about providing my pawns with quality of life from the beginning.

Mods come with some trade off, but them being "wrong" is not one of that. This is a single-player game. There is no "virtuous" way of playing. Do whatever you like and makes the game work for you.

Well i still make my base look good and have recreation items even if dupes don`t technically need those. Sometimes i even make sure they have comfortable temperature in their bedrooms nad warm water in their showers even if they don`t care.

If you want your dupes to live luxurious, pampered lives... the tools are there for that.

If you want your dupes to live in prisons where what time they don't spend gasping for air on a wheel generating power for you... the tools are also there for that.

How you chose to play your game is entirely up to you. It is up to you to set your own challenges and goals. Want to abuse known mechanics? Be our guest. Want to save edit? Go ahead.
