16 rockets isn't enough for my more ambitious plans (outside of rocket based bases).  Sadness.

What happens if you try to view the interior of the 17th rocket?  Does the game crash?

Also, does this apply to just space fairer modules or a combination of space fairer and the nosecone?

I could view the interior of all 20 rocket modules and send duplicants in them. I haven't tested more than 20. I don't know if the game treats the building space of the modules on the large map...

I haven't tested combination of modules.

OK, thank you for your answers.

This is interesting. Since apparently the interior of the modules is technically a part of the bigger map there should be limited amont of them possible to build. Either there is extra space allowing to go over the 16 limit or some of them are somehow duplicated. Maybe 2 modules lead to one interior or something.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, I just didn't push my investigation too far. I was mostly concerned with reporting that it was a thing so it could get addressed by the devs if they thought it would fit their list of priorities and if it was indeed a bug/exploit. Also, I don't really enjoy playing around in sandbox mode, so I try minimizing my time in there XD

It would be interesting to know what really goes on with it though!

That was my theory too.  Without that knowledge I wouldn't assume a hard limit.  I was thinking about asking about building something different in each one and see what happens.  It's also possible they made some more slots than they allow for some reason.

It doesn't matter if it's a spacefarer module or solo spacefarer nosecone. The space occupied/reserved is the same

Ah, so if I build the 15th spacefairer, it will replace a nosecone?  Or more to the point, it replaces whatever is in the slot it is building in with the appropriate module.

There are 16 assigned spots for modules either it is a spacefarer module or a solo spacefarer nosecone. Ideally you build just these 16. The game doesn't let you to put down the 17th one after the 16th is finished building but if it is still unfinished you could queue up more like NeoDeusMachina mentioned in the bug report.

I just showed you 21 :P

And the game doesn't crash but reloading...

Spoiler

...puts the neutronium border that each "reserved spot" has around it. That sweeper could totally reach to the other side :distant:

Oh, so its dynamic?  Like when you put in more it makes another one?  I thought that this was default.

Klei could implement dedicated cargo/resource collection rockets, which work like in the old base game - Without dupes inside.

Klei could also bypass ( any possible ) rocket amount limitation for such dedicated cargo/resource collection rockets, as no additional inside map space would be required ( as there are no dupes inside ).

@sakura_sk Big thanks for sharing the the map screenshot :p
