Mechanical surfboards

I've never used the surfboards before and I was wanting to but for the life of me I can't get them to use it. Am I doing something wrong? I have water supplied to them and I was going to try to use a mini pump to pump the excess water back into it but they just wont use it.

Looks good to me. Perhaps your dupes don't have enough free time to go to this room?

Would you please provide a screenshot of your pipe layout? In certain designs the water is prevented from flowing, so the surfbords are still connected, but not fed with water

Dupes use mechanical surfboards fine for me.

But bear in mind dupes do have a decision process for what rec building they choose to use. Like I seem to recall in one base my dupes would always prefer to use a Soda Fountain over the Mechanical Surfboard. And because the Soda Fountain buff lasts less than 1 cycle (unlike many rec buildings that provide a multi-cycle buff), that means they would just use the Soda Fountain every downtime and run out of time to use the Surfboard.

I've noticed my dupes never use arcade cabinets now. Maybe its something with the party line phones?

do you have enough water? I usually have a layer of water partially covering the pumps. Other than that the setup looks ok.

The dupes are very selective for recreation. The first they use airtube; if all places are taken, they go for another high fun activities.

I put a timer so they can go to whatever is "green". Try to disallow other recreation buildings and see if they start using the surf.

The surfboards are really fun to watch dupes practicing water surfing.
