Would you want them to update the models of old characters?

If you noticed some characters (mainly old ones) dont really match how they are portrayed in animations or other pieces of art like the screens.

The two main offenders that come to mind would be Maxwell (Worst one by far) and Wendy.

Maxwell's issues is his short sleeves, lack of pointy shoulders and claw like hands, could also point out the leggings. 

In Wendy's case its her sleeves not being puffy, which are even show in her character portrait, the lack of detail on her shoes, and theres also the collar of her shirt being completely gone (i know necks are mostly removed, but we have already seen collars, including on Wendy with her skins)

I just feel these two in particular (kinda funny considering they are related) could use some tweaks to their in-game models.

Character consistency is all over the place with animatics, official art, and in-game sprites.

At this point it's not so easy as just "fixing it". Default clothing would be OKish to alter, still a lot but not nearly as much as having to change every single head sprite for every single character skin.

I mean, heads are fine so far, only sorta different is Maxwell's due to the pointy chin, rather than a flat one, and kinda with Winona, but overall the heads are fine.

It would just mostly be the base skin (clothes). 

Thanks for the excuse to draw! Been looking for something to warm up for the Klei Halloween 2021 submission. 

I tried my hand at redesigning Maxwell, these are my results:

A is exclusively a tweak to his default outfit, while B is a redesign I tried for fun, not sure if it works too well but I tried to incorporate some of his more recent appearances.

edit: figured I'd try redesigning Wendy, too. I like how well her animated short translates into an in-game design! I also noticed how the flowers in her hair are noticeable from the front in the short, so I tried to include those too.

I hope they re-design Wolfgang a little bit.. but other then that I’m okay with everyone else..

Wolfgang rework might be too much work though because he already has several skins like Werewolf skins that use those old sprites.

but IF they update him I want him to look more like, well like this:

Tbf, its mainly his animations thats odd, the art style looks quite different from the other ones.

What happened to him is similar to how Maxwell shrunk from his NPC version. 

Same goes to Woby who kinda look like a dog rather than a ball of fur.

Love your concepts! I always hated how Wendy eyes looked ingame.

On topic, since Walter's been mentioned already and that's who I feel is the biggest discrepancy between game and animation. I'll mention Webber instead, who loses the black scribble spider hair and gets a very light base colour with lines drawn over it. Looked particularly rough in the Reap What You Sow update... this looks closer to his Batilisk costume than his default look.

It's not too bad. Likely this way because it'd be hard to read his poses if he was a large blob of black, but it feels... softer. Like the artstyle just went softer on us. Animated Webber does have his one big upside, and that's not spending 95% of his stime with his mouth wide open.
