NewWorldDan
Looking for ideas - when my dupes have been in an unsafe area (in this case a rocket chimney @ 200C, steam pressure of 40kg) and change out of their atmo suits (inside the spacefarer module) they sometimes get scalded even though the ambient temp inside is 30C and they aren't carrying anything hot with them. In other areas I've solved this kind of problem with a double liquid lock or something like that, so that they go through a cool liquid before exiting their suits. Ideas or insights? Sasza22
It`s possible that the dupes get really hot themselves. They can get above 75 C while inside suits and they won`t get scalded before they take them off. Personally i never had that happen but if that`s the issue then making them run through cold water or cold hydrogen should cool them down pretty fast. I have seen this before in my play through. They need time to cool down, before taking off the suit. I simply had my duplicants walk a little further after leaving the hot area and before going through the suit checkpoint. No more scalding. NewWorldDan
Hmmm. This could actually finally be the use for the duplicant checkpoint - make them wait 5 seconds after they get inside the rocket before they can move to the checkpoint, although I hate to give up 3 tiles inside the capsule for that. Well, you should reconsider your rocket chimney construction then... either in that you don't recycle the steam/CO2 (above background), vent it to elsewhere (Steel Gas Pump, Steam only) or keep the pathway in the chimney short, insulated and uninteresting + keep the suits somewhere cool. The steam could also be cooler IIRC, I ain't sure about CO2 but well... tempshift plates to a frozen biome always work. And we're taking this thing all the way to the asteroid bottom. Also using it to boil/purify water. It will also have 2 minor volcanoes as well. Going to need a lot of insulated pipes. We're going big on this thing. Hydrogen rockets all the way.
