Playing on the Pure Rust mod Spaced out mode..

Cycle 57, main asteroid... the main objective at the moment is to finish setting up refining (standby until oil can be shipped in from some other asteroid) and set up proper electrolysis for both teleportation asteroids.

Secondary Asteroid, the main objective is to establish proper glossy drecko taming for the sake of plastic, and to set up proper materials science research..possibly send water over if necessary...?

i'm a very sloppy ONI'er. I feel like I stumble a lot which results in incredibly messy designs. But hey, why not share some of my weird headspace. :D

My main power grid:

gas tank brings in natural gas from a nat gas vent and excess hydrogen from a SPOM. Petroleum runs the most, nat gas second, hydrogen third. I don't have petroleum running 100% bc i've only just tapped into a third oil reservoir to ensure that I don't run out of petroleum. I may switch that soon, but that would kind of make the Nat and Hyd setups defunct, and I don't really know what to do with that stuff otherwise.

NG gens and Petrol gens drip PW into lower right. I have a layer of regular water on top of the PW to prevent offgassing in an otherwise pure CO2 environment that is being pumped into a slickster farm. If i were to do this again i'd add another tile height so i can fit regular gas pumps instead of minis. when PW gets too high, some of it gets dumped out into a pipeline that leads to my steam chamber.

All of this is being cooled through a loop of ethanol that i've been too lazy to replace with recently acquired super coolant.

Oil and Petroleum:

fairly standard petrol boiler, i cut into it halfway bc i was getting pressure damage from some of the tiles. This was prior to my knowledge that airflow tiles don't take pressure damage.

Originally I wanted to do all slicksters and not have to deal with oil reservoirs at all since i had both a CO2 vent and CO2 geyser close enough together to generate lots and lots of slickster food, but I underestimated exactly how many slicksters i needed to have to get steady oil output, so i switched to just maintaining a lazy slickster set up to more deal with the excess CO2 and rely upon the oil reservoirs for oil production.

Steam/Water Filter Room:

This has been a huge learning and ever-evolving/tweaking thing for me. The initial idea for this comes from Francis John's recent ONI run where he channels heat from the magma biome to evaporate PW, SW and B and then convert the steam into W. In his run he's just collecting the water and not doing anything with it. I actually wanted to use the water, so I went through quite a lot of tinkering before landing here for the moment (I need to think about other changes/mods to this design because it's now messy having been frankensteined over many cycles).

Upper left tank is the mixed water collection. Two pumps route that through the hot plate, but they don't run constantly, they turn off when the pressure sensor in the steam room is >500. I did this bc when i was running it constantly, the steam was struggling to get hot enough to activate the steam turbines despite the connected diamond tiles on the other side of the hot plate door being about 1100F, so I shut off the flow to make it easier for the existing steam to heat faster. This is also helped by the Aquatuners injecting heat. The three upper ATs are a cooling loop of petroleum for the STs - at this point only one of them is running, i've just been lazy about deconstructing the other two.

The lower two ATs are grabbing water from the small water tank and excess water from the large water tank (which is otherwise routing to all of my oil reservoirs). The small water tank is my latest addition to the design. It grabs water from the large tank and has a super coolant cooling loop running through it - when the temp of the water goes below 66F, it spits out to the AT loop and then adds more water to itself (monitored via hydro sensor) to allow the tank to have the same amount of water at all times.

The two ATs cool down the water further if necessary. If the water after going through that system is below 65F it spits out and heads to a multipurpose water tank for my main living quarters area, otherwise it loops and goes through the ATs again. I had to tinker with the settings off and on bc it's more important to make sure the AT is running semi-regularly to inject more heat into the steam, but a recent design change has made this not as necessary.

The two temp sensors are connected to liquid vents. This was a product of earlier on in this design when my mixed tank was running constantly and sometimes run so low in volume that it would dry up, esp when the two salt water geysers feeding into it were simultaneously dormant. The volume of steam coming from the hot plate would then be too low to allow for decent heat exchange in the entire room and my ATs (made of steel) started overheating. I added temp sensors that open the liquid vents to drip liquid more directly by the ATs to do more localized heat exchange. Since i've changed the model to not run the pipes all of the time, this has been a non-issue but it's a good safety valve measure to keep in place.

Sleet Wheat and Bristle Berry Farm for Berry Sludge. It was through this that I discovered this bug53129502_ScreenShot2021-10-15at14_49_01.thumb.png.0086d1606ad94742ab1abac690c1f852.png

Lazy set up for Hungry Tree. I'm feeding Berry Sludge shot through launchers. I just started carving out an area to make a pacu farm.

I didn't know such mods existed.  Are there versions for other biomes (pure cold biome, pure tidepool biome, etc)?

No, Sadly, just Rust...I think the mod creator may be up to suggestions, though...?
