Magheat2009
This will make colder temperatures more challenging while make slimelung into a persistant threat like food poisoning. Food poisoning germs are produced consistently by toilets unlike slimelung which relies on morbs spawning, which does not happen after upgrading to flushed toilets which in turn happens quite early on in the game. goboking
Hypothermia has nothing to do with slimelung though. It would make more sense if hypothermia suppressed a dupe's immune system and made them sneeze more often, making them more likely to subsequently contract and spread slimelung. Sasza22
This would be really hard to contain though. Swamp start causes a lot of hypothermia due to water being everywhere and it generally being cold. Now if hypothermia caused slimelung to appear it would be everywhere due to polluted oxygen offgassing off of everything. You`d basically have constant slimelung until you contain all the polluted mud/dirt/water. That`d be a bit too much imo. But i think hypothermia should greatly reduce the dupe`s germ resistance and make them easier to get sick. It should also last longer and be somehow curable, like maybe via a hot tube or sauna. FreezingSlickT
In the real-world, if you are at hypothermia levels cold and you get into a hot tub or sauna with hot temperatures, it would cause extreme pain, might even cause a heart attack. I don't know if the biology lets dupes get heart attacks, but it still would be painful. Maybe when they get into a hot tub or sauna, they will have +30% Stress for a small amount of time (less than a cycle). Maybe another way to cure a dupe is just breathing temperate oxygen but not too warm (it will still cause some pain).
ZombieDupe
Slimelung germs from hypothermia? Better if slimelung caused slimelung germs when coughing and be more outbreak prone. Hypothermia is more equivalent to heatstroke, neither of which are particularly deadly. Not sure if them being deadly would be a good idea however, may be duplicants could become so slow and unproductive that you would need to have a doctor and medication to help them, or simply leaving duplicants in temperate areas to get their body temperature up and until they do, their immune system would be affected and if it dropping 0% was instant death, these illnesses could be deadly. There are already scalding temperatures that cause damage directly, so low temperature equivalent of that like frostbite could also be cool. Hypothermia can cause you to fall asleep and freeze to death. As for how it works in the game my main gripe is that dupes can recover from it while sitting in a cold zone. Imo if they are in "chilly surroundings" it should reset the disease timer so they can only recover when you keep them warm, similarly heat stroke could only be cured if they remain in a cooler place. Sunburn already works this way iirc. They can`t recover if they remain in light.
