Lazy Deserter Solo

When ever I play DST solo, desert stones have no use. Sure, the lazy deserter can easily act as easy insanity, but that's not their supposed to be used. Telelocator staves and focuses can't be used underground, so what if the deserters took their role? I'm thinking they could function like Wagstaff's telebrella and pad, with it only being able to teleport players, and you using the stones to move between the deserters.

I agree that it should have a function for solo players, but "caves telelocator" is far too basic, it should have another use

I think they should add the functionality of being fuellable like this mod adds . By fueling it with nightmare fuel or desert stones (fueling could cost same or more sanity than touching it) the deserter should stay active for an in game day or two so you can teleport a fueled deserter from another deserter or from anywhere using a desert stone. That'd make it pretty useful for solo gameplay too, as you can simply fuel the deserter at your base and return to base when time comes. This idea can be expended with making more valuable objects like orange gems and iridescent gems fuel it for 8 day or 16 days each and each use immediately depleting some, like a day worth of fuel, thus it wouldn't strictly be the better alternative to touching it in multiplayer servers.

I think the Lazy Deserter is perfectly fine as it is right now. Instead of trying to adjust it for use in solo play (which will inevitably invalidate its current use since anything that isn't wasteful in solo would be even less wasteful in multi) another item should be created to use desert stones with. All the other bosses drop items with two uses, the desert stone is the only one with a single use.

Why do you think so? As the suggestion of fueling it goes: you should be able to fuel it by using up rather valuable materials like Nightmare Fuel, Desert Stones and Orange gems so that you can use it by yourself to teleport to a Deserter checkpoint you visited a short while ago. That doesn't invalidate its multiplayer use at all, where you can teleport players to your location, teleport new arrivals from portal to the base or make someone at a remote location of significance teleport you to their location, all without using any resources.
