No Isoresin > No Insulation > No Nosecone > No Spacefarer Module > Stuck?

In the Spaced Out DLC, in order to build a Spacefarer module and launch it, I need to have a Nosecone which requires insulation, which requires Isoresin. There is only one asteroid within scan radius, which does not have Isoresin. In order to scan further, I need a telescope in a rocket, which requires the Spacefarer module

...

I can exploit out of the bounds of the normal command capsule, but I'd rather not if possible.
Am I missing something, or am I stuck?

(Or refined carbon, those are the 3 options I'm seeing)

AFAIK: The material needs to be made before being listed as an option for building.

I believe it's just an option (I did sandbox that platform in so the full list appears).

Yeah, I built my nosecone with ceramic. I don't have an option for Insulation because I haven't found any yet.

No, it was there since the Alpha.

I remember I was also wondering back then where the to get an insulator before realizing it doesn't need the insulation material specifically (and thus currently unavailable isoresin) just a material flagged as being an insulator such as ceramic or refined carbon. Since it is the only building in the at the moment to ask for an insulator it took a while top figure out what the game meant.

Guess it could have helped to see a list of all the possible resources beforehand? Looking at it, the resources allowed to be used under the insulator category seems pretty bad.

This is why I stopped playing Alpha because I was stuck at same points two time.  I guess I should have used sandbox atleast once.

The term "insulator" is confusing when we got a material called "insulation". The material name should be rethinked imo. Also pretty weird we can build something out of refined carbon. It`s not usable for any other structure.

We also need more insulators. Just 3 is super low. Something a`la plastic foam (polyurethane foam) should be a midgame option. Maybe aerogel. Even some sort of processed lumber would work.

The simple way to fix that is to actually read and think about what it says rather then assuming they are talking about actual "insulation". It clearly says "insulator" not "insulation". Am I the only one that didn't confuse that?

Anyway, I do agree that there should be more than 3 options for this.

Also for those who are confusing it perhaps have all viable "insulator" options shown.

To be fair you're not building the nosecone out of refined carbon, it's simply used as an insulator. It's a secondary material, the nosecone itself is built from refined metal.

Then you should be able to build it from abyssalite as well. If it`s just the filler.
