Yunru
I've posted this in a thread or two, over a year ago and, well... I keep forgetting the details of my own creation, which is annoying when you're trying to recreate it. So here it is, a fully automated, dupe-free, omelette maker: Excess eggs are sent to the top storage, where they break and fall to the floor. The thermostat is set to keep the room around a balmy 75 Celsius, which is perfect because eggs cook into omelettes at 72. The omelettes are then shipped off to be eaten. Glassyfo
Nice. In my game I have a refinery in a stream room with a couple generators and I just stuck a conveyor dropoff in there and the eggs get cooked when they break.
Yunru
I wonder if you can counterflow the omlettes against the eggs to get some free cooling in.

Surely you can. (-: They're both made of genetic ooze so it should be pretty straightforward putting together a counterflow setup.
Saturnus
@Yunru If you make a small conveyor loop the omelettes can be pushed out of solid tiles when it reaches the exact temperature needed to cook them no matter how hot the "cooker" actually is. It's pushed out directly to the right in this example.

If I really care about the efficiency I'll sandbox it first. The calculations seem nontrivial, or at least an integral. Otherwise, keep it simple and just separate out some heat exchangers with insulated tile. Extend it if it's not balanced, but it often takes a few cycles for the system to come to equilibrium.
