Coolthulhu
So you can feed pacus seeds now. That is great - it makes them farmable early on and makes them "scale" with colony size naturally. Pacus that eat seeds from the feeder seem to only tame themselves for something like half the time. Their "ate from feeder" status will regularly time out, at least when they're still wild. The pacu will eat about once per cycle, but the status lasts half a cycle. Is this intended?
Steve8
It's mostly meant for disposing of excess seeds. Something which couldn't be automated before. But since seeds are kind of low calories they don't actually sustain them. They still need algae as real food
goboking
Maybe we're meant to jump start their domestication with algae?
lich46
To begin with algae is the right way. feeder provide at most 10kg per time, 10kg algae can provide ~7kcal, while seeds are more calorie dense (>3000kcal/10kg) and will prevent the pacu from eating for a few periods. The best solution is feed wild pacu with algae and tamed ones with seeds. note: a wild, happy pacu needs 25kcal per period, while a tame one needs 100kcal. Pacu eats at 450/500kcal
