justameep
Occasionally in my playthrough ive been hitting this situation where my large power transformer doesnt appear to hold any charge, and doesnt supply power to downstream buildings, Usually I just delete the power transformer and rebuild it, or delete power lines and rebuild them. However, ive hit a situation where this doesnt appear to be working. I attached a screenshot showing a snippet of my power grid where a heavy-watt wire with 6.92 kW runs through a large transformer, which shows 0/4kj of power available. You can see in the screenshot that a regular transformer is working correctly. Is there a way to work around this? babba
Normally it means that not enough power is on the line, so the power transformer can not provide power...Or not enough power consumers are on the line, so there is no need for the transformer to let power through. Its how the game and the power system works, I remember a few years ago thinking the same. If you like provide your save game, maybe someone will have a look at it then Looking at the screenshots it seems fine, one needs the save to fully check it out. Neotuck
one thing I like to do is put a smart battery on the low end that disables the transformer when it's full This helps in heat management so the transformer isn't on all the time Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/123037-large-power-transformer-not-providing-power/#findComment-1386972 Share on other sites

When the automation update was first added to the game, transformers didn't have an automation input port, so we used power shutoff switches ONI players had to be very creative with what little we had to work with Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/123037-large-power-transformer-not-providing-power/#findComment-1387054 Share on other sites
