piratekingflcl
Glossy Dreckos are actually a very plentiful source of Plastic with the right conditions. You can make Shearing rooms whose sole purpose is to house 20 Glossy Dreckos in a Hydrogen room for dupes to harvest plastic from; each Glossy Drecko will produce on average 50kg of plastic per cycle, so with 20 Glossy Dreckos per shearing room you would be looking at an average of 1Ton of Plastic per cycle, per fully stocked shearing room. For players who like to play around with the cute animals, this can be one of the easiest ways to make them useful.

DarkMaster13
You have to look at the egg times and amount of meat you get out of critters to judge how good they are at producing food. Organized for meat production from best to worst: Shove vole: 17% egg rate, 16,000 kcal meat or 2,800 kcal omelette, 100 life cycle Hatch / Slickster: 17% egg rate, 3,200 kcal meat or 2,800 kcal omelette, 100 life cycle Drecko: 11% egg rate, 3,200 kcal meat or 2,800 kcal omelette, 150 life cycle Puft: 22% egg rate, 1,600 kcal meat or 700 kcal omelette, 75 life cycle Pip: 17% egg rate, 1,600 kcal meat or 2,800 kcal omelette, 100 life cycle Notably, this means that Pip eggs give more food than Pip meat. Also dreckos and pufts are roughly equal for everything except omelettes, but require twice as much dupe labor for grooming. Pokeshells and shine bugs can also be ranched for food, but are limited to only being able to produce omelette. Pokeshells produce the same amount as other 17% egg rate critters. Shine bugs are slightly better than pufts for raw egg production (67% egg rate, 280 kcal omelette, 15 life cycle).
PIRATE D KING
13 hours ago, gotnoface said: @lee1026 I agree on that point. Very automated base has too much dupe idling, Labor becomes non-issue. On the other hand I think drecko is too good, cause there's Surf'n'Turf. You only have to set up the drecko/lily ranch once and you're set for life. Then it's only a question of time until you can set up your wild fish pond. I think dreckos are too good ranching animal, because they don't require ANY resource management at all once set up. by that logic automation is too good too because once set up it doesnt require any management tho, actually after properly setting things up 90% of the game doesnt require further management.
