auron471
So uh... just started trying to farm pufts, and i just realized how much of a pain they are. you cant wangle them since they are airborn and must rely on the (in my opintion) sucky airborne critter lures. Some of my pufts that i managed to get into a ranch are tamed, but the other wild ones cant get groomed, so how do i tame them? i dont even know how the tame ones got tamed in the first place. any times on farming them? Also i've never actually made the other puft morphs, but i know according to the wiki that they have a 33% egg chance from normal pufts if a prince is near. but do the other morphs also rely on a prince being nearby to lay the special eggs? and do the special morphs still have a chance of dropping the other egg types? (a dense puft laying a squeaky puft egg) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/114532-pufts-and-stufts/ Share on other sites
KILLABUDZ
Once critters are in an appropriately sized room with a grooming station the dupes will groom them and thus tame them. There is a really nice mod that lets you wrangle fliers without traps. You will need egg sorting to keep the correct morphs in the ranches. Also, the airborn lures dont actually wrangle? Can you provide screenshot or savegame? Do you have a rancher with ranching allowed? What is his task list? What exactly it says in station errands tab? Is it really ranch in Room Overlay? Is station reachable by rancher? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/114532-pufts-and-stufts/#findComment-1294334 Share on other sites

Increase the priority of the station, it takes times to ranch all the Pufts. Quote do the other morphs also rely on a prince being nearby to lay the special eggs? Yes, you need a Prince with any species. Quote do the special morphs still have a chance of dropping the other egg types? Yes, but really small chance. Just check the Puft window you will have this information constantly. psusi
They can't be groomed while they are babies... once they reach age 5 then they will be groomed. 10 hours ago, SamLogan said: Yes, you need a Prince with any species. You don't *need* one, they just tend to lay prince eggs if you don't give them one. 16 hours ago, auron471 said: Also i've never actually made the other puft morphs, but i know according to the wiki that they have a 33% egg chance from normal pufts if a prince is near. but do the other morphs also rely on a prince being nearby to lay the special eggs? and do the special morphs still have a chance of dropping the other egg types? (a dense puft laying a squeaky puft egg) https://oni-db.com/details/puftbleachstone They have a 2/3 chance to lay their own type and a 1/3 to lay normal. With a prince, their own chance goes up, and without, prince chance goes up. You can normally get at least one of their own type to replace them before they start tending to lay prince eggs if you don't keep them with a prince. Then you can just eat the princes. I mean, you need one Prince in the room from any source to keep the other Puft lay the eggs that renew the specie.
