How to make a room full of vacuum.

Recommended Posts

Another tip for if you dig out a geyser is to use water or some liquid.  A small amount of water will fill that tiny area and push the gas out of where the geyser is, allowing you to build tiles around it to get your vacuum.  Once completely uncovered, just mop up the water.  It can kinda be difficult to get working 100% of the time, but it can be quite nice around things like polluted water vents or something that you are going to be pumping up anyway since they can basically vacuum the room themselves.

That's quite clever. I thought of filling an entire space with water but I didn't consider just covering a few problem tiles. I wish that was in the video.

For bigger rooms it's better to use few minipumps and give each of them seperate gas vent or high pressure gas vent. Also it is worth to mention that if you intent to put specific gas into the room, letting the gas in and pumping unwanted gas out at the same time with gas filter can speed up the process a lot. Both methods help to deal with those annoying micro quantities of gas.

If you want low power options, and have time to wait, then both the bead pump and the bypass (jebaitor) can pump a room to vacuum. Building tiles and then hollowing out is definitely one of the fastest I've used.

A no power version that takes a long time would be door pumps

I'm not sure what a bypass pump is, I'll search the forums for it.

has been trying to use jebaitor to vacuum a area.... it seem a bit slow. and one more thing...the bottom water gone randomly....(i was using brine)
is under some case the jebaitor will delete itself?

fun stuff..i been using it a bit....I still mess up some time

I did say "time to wait. "

As for the missing bottom liquid, please put a screenshot in the liquid gas bypass post and we can trouble shoot it there.

Was there, at any point, a way for liquid to show up next to the lower swapping tile? So you would have bottom liquid - gas to be swapped - another liquid (maybe in bead form). If this is the case, then odd things happen when falling liquid interacts with different stagnant and/or falling liquids. I have seen little blobs of liquid get sucked out of their holding cell when this happens.

I haven't explored this phenomenon enough to explain what happens (sometimes liquids split in two, sometimes they swap places, the side it happens on matters, etc.)  There is probably some really cool mechanic to study here, which we can use to our advantage once we fully understand it.  Here's the original post, if you get a chance to put up a screen shot of the entire region where you saw it happen (doesn't matter if you capture it happening). Also @Tonyroid, you can use that link for the bypass pump.

that problem arise when i not looking at it,vacuuming volcano chamber/big room,i not looking it for 30 cycle ,and sometime it gone...i got many type of gas in those room tho.(H2,o2,co2,sometime p.o2,last is Chlorine).btw it seem Chlorine have very low chance getting inside jebitor,i could get some co2 in the chamber while 200g per tile of chlorine would float around that place for hundreds of cycle.

there are 2 of them i remember having problem,(both change a bit due to problem happen)the volcano one is normal water lock currently, that one with value is how it should be.the spot with Deodorizer:left side with larger room is currently using(for 200 cycle emptying the room below lol ,no problem just slow.Deodorizer on right side with smaller room is old design the brine water gone force me to change to a big room etc.

the spot with Deodorizer

My best guess is the deodorizer is creating a vacuum tile below where the jebaitor bypass should happen and then magic happens. I'll try to reproduce it reliably and then post details. Thanks for the screen shots. Has it always happened with deodorizers near?

Is your valve at 0.1 g? If so then you'll never get vacuum with three gasses present.

the new one with deodorizer on left is working fine for 200 cycle.
(the old one with deodorizer on right got some problem ...around 50 cycle,it should be mostly O2 gas and some pO2,since the bioem I open Swamp Biome first with mixed Caustic Biome.(the POI break the abysstile wall
all set to 0.1g

i just recall , only one reservoir(using mod for super storage) was used since it was build...you can tell mostly is O2 and H2....co2 a few g ,very strange no Chlorine/p o2.i used some of the gas inside (2000kg o2 and other gas).

co2 a few

Since you have debris in the region, and dupe access, my guess on the CO2 is that it came from a dupe, not the pump, though that doesn't make sense if you've always had 100% exosuit access.

the full exosuit came online rather late, they did go in to refill the sand
