Boogerlock Tutorial

Recommended Posts

Before we start, this utilises the 1-element-per-tile law of ONI physics. If you don't like it, you may want to check out my other airlock (link in signature).

IMPORTANT EDIT: The following doors have to mechanised if you want to use this without suits.

The first thing to build is this structure:

The top area is a holding cell for any gasses we may have to extract, and allows us to pour fluids in. The hydro sensors are set to "below 0" and will come into play later.

Next we need to add a little fluid, other than water. The easiest way to do this is with a bottle emptier. We only want a tiny bit so use the mini-pumps to extract any excess that falls:

Now we're almost done. Disconnect the mini-pumps from wherever you sent the excess, and connect them to their respective vents. We can deconstruct the bottle emptiers too. Build two liquid shut-offs directly above the vents and connect them to their hydro sensors like so:

Now run water through the shut-off valves until the boogers form:

And you're done! You could clean up a bit by removing the shut-offs and their automation, but it's fully functional.

One last step for those of you that want to use this with unsuited dupes, since gas in the centre area breaks the lock until it reestablishes itself; add an atmo sensor set to "below 0" tied to the doors:

Although it can take some time to vacuum so you may want to add an air pump:

Special thanks to @mathmanican for taking my rediscovery of a flaw with bead pumps in a totally different direction than I would of ever thought of. Without which this concept wouldn't (yet) exist.

another lock! now i know 4 locks:

waterlock

airlock (i think you made it, but not sure)

this lock (boogerlock)

sandlock

Honestly this one's just for fun. There's no reason to use it over my airlock. This uses more power and is less stable.

seem like there's still only 2 locks worth using.

3 if you count dont viscogel as an waterlock
