TykoTek
As a new player the most confusing thing I've dealt with so far is the way water flow UP through buildings. Un-powered water buildings like toilets, sinks and water reservoirs have water flow in from the bottom and out through the top. The sink is a great example. Even the building model shows a fresh water tank above the sink, which makes sense, so why is the fresh water inlet at the bottom and the water outlet on the top - visually over-layed on the fresh water tank? I look around my life and everything I can think of that has un-pumped water flow always has water enter from above and leave from below. It's because that's how gravity works. From a game standpoint this makes it harder to learn because a new player is going to draw on real world experience to understand how piping should flow. There's enough to learn in this game without making common things like plumbing counter-intuitive. What's the reason for that design choice? Sasza22
I can`t tell what was the original reason to do toilets this way but after that they did all the buildings the same for consistency. This was brought up a few times but changing it now could create more confusion than it fixes. The counter-argument is that it's in Beta and the whole point of a Beta is to identify issues before it gets released. Arguably, most of their potential customers haven't played the game yet and players who participate in a Beta go in expecting game-breaking changes to occur for the sake of making the release a better game. bobucles
It's confusing every time that the lavatory has a water reservoir on TOP, yet you fill it from the bottom. Also the poop flows out the top. I'll never understand this. If it was the reason, why does the liquid reservoir or the metal refinery are filled from the top and emptied from the bottom ? It will be common sens to switch all buildings using liquids so that the input was on the top of the building, and the ouput at the bottom. ONIfreak
I think ( don't quote me on that) that lavatory along with clock sensor wants to make world move backwards ( so from left bottom to right top makin it moving counterclockwise sort of) later game equipment ( metal refinery or oil refinery) also has this counterclockwise mechanic. Only waret reservoirs are "correct" making it a bit inconsistent. Same with gas buildings. After release, we'll be most likely stuck with it. ONIfreak
I would however change reservoirs rather than all other buildings and make everything counterclockwise.
