TheEvilMango
How many trees does it take to support 1 petroleum gen? Also is it better to domesticate them or leave them wild?
TheGCat
4 Trees (domesticated) => 4 Ethanol Refineries => 1 Petroleum Gen. Calculate by yourself the difference of needed wild trees.
Nebbie
Wild normally is just 1/4x, so I'd assume that's 16 wild trees per petroleum generator. Domestication is better if you can supply the resources needed, and for trees, it's just polluted water and some phosphorite, the former of which is conveniently produced by the petroleum generator in amounts enough to supply a bit more than 4 trees, so as long as you've got phosphorite, a way to cool things down, and a way to deal with CO2, you have basically a free power source. Exactly. Phosphorite converted to polluted water, polluted dirt, carbon dioxide, and power? Yes please. Too much CO2? Feed it to slicksters or sieve the polluted water to clean then use the clean water in carbon Skimmers. Too much polluted water? No such thing. Too much polluted dirt for your compost? Feed it to Pokeshells or let it offgas. (Protip: putting the deodorizer in the same spot as the piled polluted dirt prevents the polluted dirt (water too) from stopping offgassing due to high pressure.)
