No Balm Lily on Rime?

Rime is the fully frozen world right? I am currently on a playthrough of Rime, and have not had to deal with slimelung AT ALL. all the germs on my map froze to death within like 20 cycles.

I have noticed that as well in the last few minutes. They seem to freeze out even of the PO2 pretty fast.

It would be cool if low temperatures didn't kill off germs, just stopped their metabolism (no reproduction, no germ death, no dupe infection). So slime biomes would be safe, until you raised their temperature or brought slime to your (warm) base. Would make for classic horror-scifi gameplay.

I doubt they will change how germs work for a single type of asteroid to be more flavourful, but one can dream.

I would have no issue with that if you have Balm Lily. Current state is that I cannot find Slimelung germs anywhere, even slime tiles next to a cool steam vent seem to be completely sterile.

Well the tiles that are included in the guaranteed exposed Cool Steam are always sterile.  It's beyond the area of the template you'd start seeing germs in them.  The cold should take care of everything else.

That explains it. Since nothing in the slime biome is warm besides the tiles around the Cool Steam Vent I have there, nothing has slimelung after a while.

A major pain because I need a chlorine sink.

Sorry, I'm the one that didn't understand what you mean with chlorine sink, I thought it can be done with chlorine geyser.

Not every world designed to have all feature available in game. For example some worlds didn't have gold amalgam and have to rush into steel for higher overheat modifier. But you should ask them if you doubt it is intentional or not. I think SaltPlantSeed should be available on care package at least because it is pretty basic. So any world that not suitable for them to spawn wild still have a chance.

Well It's cycle 424 and I'm still waiting for a seed.

At least I cannot find any. Messes up dealing with Slimelung (of which there is plenty) and makes Drecko farming a pain. Probably have to do natural Mealwood now...

IDK where you're getting slimelung.. in my two bases on Rime, you can dig into slime biomes without fear because its too cold for slimelung to exist.  No dreckos, either, because its so cold in the caustic biome that they died.  Anyway, the point is: Rime doesn't need medicine to deal with slimelung.  Its not a disease you're going to encounter.
