It seems like replacing it with neutronium would be even better. Jesus help me Well there are currently a few bug/issues with performance in the launch upgrade right now... it's running worse than it was during QoL Mk3. Suspect it may be due to the way temperature is calculated. Notice how when you open the temp overlay FPS drops massively? That's a good indicator of something fishy. It's also what's causing the game to stutter immensely when launching rockets, as rockets tend to affect their surroundings a great deal in terms of temperature and so forth. Sadly Klei isn't big enough to hire 50 experts with the sole purpose of optimizing the game. They are likely doing the best they can. What we can do is to figure out which tricks work and which makes it worse and report that back to Klei. What Klei would likely be really interested in is to know what to do in order to make the FPS drop significantly. Those are good examples of feedback, which has a good chance of being useful when trying to figure out how the code can be changed to make the game run faster. Two different ways of dropping performance, both sharing some code (most likely), which would be a strong hint that the shared code is worth investigating. It's also a guide on how to make the code in question fail. Poor performance is like any other bug. It's much easier to identify what in the code is causing the issue if you can reproduce the problem on your own computer while you have tools attached to your game (debugger, performance analyzer etc). It's also a good way to test if ideas for fixing the problem actually does fix the problem. Particularly with performance, it's important to be able to test the result because in some cases the performance could be getting worse due to something you overlooked. Gunhaver Posted August 3, 2019 Share Posted August 3, 2019 Not sure if it's related to temp. But, another thing that causes a spike in slowdown is opening up the gardening overlay. I've not used it before, but I was looking for a particular plant at the time. It slowed down the game considerably. I just thought it was strange b/c one would think that's not exactly a complex overlay.
