Yeeeesssss. <3 A merm character could have fishing buff, not attract merm aggro, not mind being wet, etc. I had an idea around the time of The Gorge of a half-merm character that looked fishy, like the townsfolk in the Lovecraft story. Either a merm, half-merm, or partially-mermified character could fill the gap nicely.
