Space Scanner for rockets

No, you don’t need high scan quality on that scanner.

Regardless of scan quality or connection, all scanners use the total scan quality of your network. If your network is 100%, a rocket scanner will detect your rocket at 200 seconds, even if it’s deep underground. Of course your underground scanner won’t improve your network at all, but if you’re just looking to control rocket silo doors and have enough scanners already, you don’t need a good view of the sky.

If your network quality is less than 100%, individual scanners will detect objects at different times. Let’s suppose you’ve got 3 scanners, a 50% network quality, and a detection time of 100-200 seconds. Each individual scanner may pick up your object (meteor or rocket) at 100, 150, 200, or whatever time. Connecting the outputs just turns them into one big OR gate, so the line goes high once any of the scanners detect something.

The scanners aren’t “talking” when connected, it’s just normal behavior for linking logic signals together. If you have 100% network quality, linking the outputs does nothing. All your scanners will detect the object at the same time.

If your logic is set up for the worst case, i.e. assumes that you only have 100 seconds when you get a signal, linking the scanners together is actually the opposite of what you want. What you really want is all the signals to be AND’d together, so the logic responds to the last detection, not the first.

As for that biopon thread - that’s an outright exploit, based on glitching the scanner. If you’re comfortable with cheating, go ahead and use it.
