It was there forever so i`m not sure it`s fixable. One reason you need to use the "move to" function to save the silly dupes. It'd be neat if fixed but I can imagine quite well how it'd also cause 10 new bugs, maybe all less lethal (but maybe not). For sure this odd behavior is not as easily fixable as everyone would like it to be. PhailRaptor Posted April 13, 2019 Share Posted April 13, 2019 Yeah, cause is most likely the Dance-Dance issue with Dupe AI and the flittering nature of gas packets in the world. The Dupe is low on air, and is attempting to path to the nearest Breathable area. But the Dupe is torn between 2 locations. There is one very close by, with only a single tile rated as Breathable, but that single tile packet keeps flickering into and out of range, swapping positions with another gas. When it is in a pathable location, the Dupe changes direction to go to that location. When it moves out of the pathable location, the Dupe will swap back to the previous destination, probably near a ladder to climb up above the CO2 cloud. The end result is a Dupe holding it's breath, dancing back and forth between 2 or 3 tiles, until either you catch them and manually set a destination, or until they die from lack of Oxygen. I really wish there was a way to designate a "safe" area so that Dupes prioritized going to this area over chasing that small packet. Literally had a guy die in my carbon lock right outside my 2K oxygen base because there was one packet of oxygen outside my base that tempted the poor guy. I dont think it was slime lung, my dupes get it all the time now and never has one died. And why did they take their helm off everytime they need to cough?
