inquisitiveToast
How many wild Pacus do you suppose it takes to support a dupe if I only ever harvest the meat from the ones that die of old age? I have plenty of wild Pepper, so... 12.5 per dupe? Spoiler They seem to be sustaining themselves in spite of being overcrowded, but it's a little hard to keep track. Coolthulhu
Wild or stray Pacu lays an egg around its 20th birthday. Egg takes 10 cycles to hatch. So a full "Pacu cycle" is about 30 game cycles. Single dead pacu is 1.6k kcal of meat, so 2k kcal of bbq. So you need about 15 pacus per dupe on standard settings. jlarner
I thought wild Pacu eggs were 5 cycles? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/104363-pacus/#findComment-1172366 Share on other sites

Isn't more accurate to take the cycle calculation from the 1st egg cycle to pacu's death cycle ? There's 25cycles between egg lying, 25 cycles between deaths, 25 cycles between egg hatching, 25 cycles between reaching maturities. You get the picture (I hope). I done something similar, with not really promising results: I collected all pacu eggs and put them into my ~20°C polluted water tank. (I was pumping in new polluted water and was pumping out clean water. So all pacu should be able to survive indefinitely.) => Had some population drops over maybe 500cycles. (Had oni running while my pc had to run anyways^^) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/104363-pacus/#findComment-1172798 Share on other sites
