natanstarke
We need what i said even more now with the new skill system athletics seems to be nowhere and gained passively but very slowly by walking, using manual gens, gym room, or something like that should upgrade that stat. I even lost a dupe because of being so freaking slow on exosuit that he died and i have 500 hours of gameplay and have been got off guard by this. Coolthulhu
The athletics skill grows really fast. The problem is, it seems to grown nearly linear. Slow gains early on, when the dupes are slow, then it starts piling up. Manually training it is a bad idea, but reworking the formula could fix the problem of late comers taking long to catch up. Yunru
Hamster Wheels. Don't attach batteries, just plug 'em straight into a machine (that won't be used).

Yunru
I've been told it levels both and think I've experienced it, but I've never empirically tested it.
Guest
It definitely trains both. However, I believe it trains athletics at a fixed rate (as if the dupe was running corridors for the time) whereas the rate tinkering trains can be buffed by dupe interest in operations.
