I need assistance with the gas filter

Recommended Posts

What would be the best way to use the gas filter for the hydrogen generator and Natural gas conductor? I'm getting better but I feel like missed out on the instructions. Natural gas is filling the base and I'd like to catch the natural gas with the gas pumps.

Extract the hydrogen or NG on the yellow output and be sure the rooms where those gas are produce are totally hermetic by using a waterlock or immured.

The interesting part about that part, was for me, how gas settles down in mixture with other gasses, when pressure is raised/ lowered.
For your natgas example. I normally build a room around it (small, but space for wheezie and atmosensor).
Then i vacuum it  (that i can remove filter from the line), then atmosensor > 1kg/on and one wheezie into it, was most times enough.
Runs for dazillion cycles, without heating up, here one without wheezie.

Use a waterlock or when you have oil/petrol lock to prevent gas leaking out BEFORE (^^) you open the geyser stuff.
When you pressurize whole map, every gas will settle down into oil biome, where you can install a pump, when you need it, to get rid of stuff.
Give the unwanted gas a path to escape and raise o² pressure around the area..

The reason I did this thread is I think I did ,my set up wrong.

"wrong" mhhh perhaps overcomplicated.
Your "chain" of filters needs to much energy.
In theory i need never a filter for hydrogen, when i pressurize area with o². I use the one element per tile rule.
never had other gasses mix into.

Placement of Nat gen very bad spot. I place them never directly inside living areas (temp is too hard to control) and most times they end in the oil biome / close to it.

All my co² is collected from external machinery into the right petrol gen chamber liquid/ hp vent.
One thing, use portal to create great hall bonus early game, helps a lot.
LOL but a espresso machine ^^
Use the room overlay to create areas, dupes like and then direct the "traffic" through it, that they get the + bonus / decoration every time.

Pressurize the whole area with 0² use electrolyzers.
Showers seem to be broken, "grimy" - shower -> not removed..
Hydrogen is someway precious and i try to horde it. Early game i use open electrolyzer systems (free flow) but very quick i start to build one of those closed systems and a second one with filtered o² for the exosuits (when i need a third one).
watch the upper part - one tile space to move for the hydro = no filter needed!

I use quick as possible AETN to cool everything i need (no volcanos - machinery - oil biome) and start to precool hydro, including those o² "machine chambers". You need no pump in the cooling loop (or any), when you use two bridges in a "circle-loop", everything moves for free. ^^
