What is temperature of liquids produced by slickster?

Recommended Posts

I'm sitting at work trying to do everything except work ;) so I've been wondering about some project involving farming slicksters. Since I cannot check it here in real game and I don't recall ever reading about it - what is temperature of liquids that slicksters are producing? Is it same as theirs body temperature?

yes, this is why I don't view molten slicksters as an alternative for petroleum production as it's so hot that ether you need to cool it or use pumps with space materials

but that's just my opinion, some players only ranch sticklers for egg production and removing CO2

Isn't steel with it's +200 overheat temperature not enough to ranch molten slicksters now ?

Molten slickers die at temperatures greater than 270°C, they can´t produce petroleum hot enough to damage steel buildings.

(PS: I don´t range slicksters, but I try to "save" all wild slicksters in a room without an atmosphere. So I have free eggs/meat every now and then, but I can use all my CO2 to produce dirt for sleet wheat. (carbon skimmer + water sieve))

Maybe you should give it a shot. When collecting CO2 from meteors and rockets you can get quite good results.

I try to limit what I ranch in order to avoid lag issues late game

I prefer to use CO2 for dirt farming

Yeah, pathfinding lag can kill all pleasure of playing this game :(

I really hope Klei will improve this part, especially wiith multithreading. If I understand correctly - each critter or dupe each tick, or second is calculating all possible paths it can go. So collection of all critters and dupes could be divided into number of separate collections, same as number of available threads and each thread will count paths in same time for its own collection. This could speed up pathfinding significally.

My moltens are around 110 C body temp and petro is about 120 C.  I have a steel pump in their ranch, but if I wanted to live dangerously, I could make due with gold amalgam.  Also, a passive cooling loop connecting to almost anywhere else would be more than enough to keep it under 125 without massive heat leakage.  Even a few wheezes would probably sufficient, but I like to keep it hot because they need to be > 100 C to maximize chance of molten larva.
