Firelyz
So i had the great idea of building a LoX plant below the rockets for short refueling .... sadly i discovered that the tiles below the rocket even with triple isulation takes full heat when rocket launch/land ( at the third launch some piece started to turn molten lava lol) so im thinking of building a plant on the side of rockets that do both Lox and hydrogen of course i know that i will need separate pools and cooling circuits Ive searched on youtube but with bad luck , most of setup i found where made with debug with sections not very easy to be build from dupes. Whats your setups looks like? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101992-liquid-oxygenhydrogen-setup-hints/ Share on other sites
Neotuck
Have you seen @Lifegrow's videos? He's got a good setup here and can be done without debug Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101992-liquid-oxygenhydrogen-setup-hints/#findComment-1145209 Share on other sites
Firelyz
Yes, I think I saw it, but I remain a bit skeptical for the automatic doors that seem to me a bit cheating, I could try to do without doors with air pumps maybe Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101992-liquid-oxygenhydrogen-setup-hints/#findComment-1145221 Share on other sites
Neotuck
you can try but they only move 500g/s steam at a time and you need to move a lot more than that to keep the turbine running and high pressure vents only work up to 20kg and you'll need higher pressure to maintain efficiency Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101992-liquid-oxygenhydrogen-setup-hints/#findComment-1145231 Share on other sites
QuantumPion
Simple heat exchanger rooms. The thermoregulators are cooled by boiling water off to space. The loops use supercoolant. The loops use supercoolant. you could put steam turbines above the AT for a free power rather than just vent off the steam. my liquid fuel setup: I really like cheating using steam turbine, should have build another one separately for liquid O2, but for now I just patiently wait my fuel ready for 5 rockets. also I have dispenser to send fuel needed for rockets, with that I don't need to loop my refueling pipe back to cooling chamber. Mind showing how you do that? I've been circulating currently because I just wanted it to work and didn't want to fight to figure out the automation. Firelyz
@QuantumPion nice it look pretty simple and clean setup , why no liquid tank for the coolant loop? @fishoutofwater didnt your battery melt inside there? also your using the trick hydrogen /steam for the turbine pressure? I had a temporary tank set up to fill the loop which I deconstructed once it was full.
