TheEvilMango
What is the best way to cool a gold valcano. I have a cool slush geyser would pumping cold PH2O on it be enough? Also would the steam be to hot for a steel pump to handle? I don't have any space materials yet. Coolthulhu
Put a ton of obsidian/igneous thermo plates around it and don't seal it with isolated tiles. It doesn't produce a lot of heat. MTzu
He also has a guide on how to excavate the volcanoes. Correct me if i'm wrong but gold volcanoes are the ones with the lowest heat output (in terms of DTU/cycle) so they actually dont require that much cooling capacity. I have managed to keep them cool with a single aquatuner so I think you are right Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101287-cooling-a-gold-valcano/#findComment-1138102 Share on other sites
Craigjw
I had to use 2 aquatuners for an iron volcano a single aquatuner struggled. I use Neotucks design mentioned above, however I cool it with a cool slush. I have a closed system of water, which gets pumped out, split into 2 pipes of 5kg/s. Each pipe goes through a big gold heat exchange block with 3kg/s of sluch going in the opposite direction. The warm water is cooled by the slush PW. Hellshound38
I usually run my petro/oil in radiant pipes through all the metal volcanoes I have before consuming it. Sometimes if placement works first through a steam geyser to condense it. In the beginning it is just to cool the metal, in the end it is for increasing the heat efficiency of my boiler without having to redesign or pipe anything.
