Lennard
I have sorta noticed from my time playing that gasses tend to have different pressures. This may be just me but I usually see oxygen at around 2000 grams per cube while other gasses have more or less per cube. Can anyone give me a full list? It doesn't tell anywhere. Hasharin
Gas have Density, and they appear in this order in the vertical way. . But you can raise the mass of any gas on any tiles to very high level ( 20 kg with High pressure vents but more with some gas and tricks) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101107-is-it-me-or-gasses-have-different-masses-can-anyone-give-a-full-list/#findComment-1136705 Share on other sites
Moggles
As for pressure per tile it depends on the surroundings. For example a regular gas vent should reach max pressure around or just above ~2kg per tile. ~20kg per tile if you use a high pressure vent. Geysers that output gas will become over pressure at 5kg per tile if they are in a sealed room There are different rules for different scenarios when it comes to pressure but all gasses obey the same rules across scenarios. They don't have any distinct differences apart from the layering effect Hasarin describes.. Liquids on the other hand do have different natural max pressures when coming to rest in a tile. There are ways to create extreme pressures with gas or liquid but that's a different scenario again. For example building a room in a certain way so that you get 100kg of CO2 on 1 tile, because it's being pushed down there by 1kg each of a few other gases using some shenanigans. I'll often have things like this happen in my games but by accident. Wheezeworts are another example where you can do alot of cheaty gas exploits. I'm already familiar with that though. cblack
The ways I know of compressing gas beyond 20Kg/tile are Puddle vent exploit: Place a vent right above a floor and put a small amount of water on the floor. Gas will exit the vent, but it can't occupy the same space as the vent, so it gets pushed elsewhere to insane densities. I've found this to be tricky to pull off, and sometimes even if you get it right it can stop working later on. The airlock exploit: By opening and closing numerous doors in series, you can compress gas without limits, as the gas that was in the door's space when open gets pushed to either side. Several doors in a row with careful automation control lets you compress the gas indefinitely. Phase change: Simply liquefy the gas by cooling it down, and pump it into a room. In that room, boil it using a thermo aquatuner or other means, and the liquid will change to a gas. I usually do this to fuel my steam rockets, and have easily reached pressures over 300Kg/tile. I'm certain there are other ways, as I don't know how the wheezewort exploit works. One of them which i widely abuse is to put vent surrounded by liquid ( less then 2kg of liquid) on the same tile -vent will see that there is no gas on this tile cause is liquid and pump gas. This way you can store lots of gas in small room. Thats good to know though I'll probably start doing that. Just be careful it can go against you as well.
