Oni Noob
Hi Guys, I just played again in a new map and it seems coal is not that many in terms of supply. I am planning to farm Morph for coal but not sure whats the best and economical way to food them? Should I feed to them mushrooms since mushrooms are renewable? beowulf2010
I think he means versions of hatches. If so, do not bother feeding them food. They convert food kg to coal but get the full kcals that the food gives so they eat mininal kg so don't generate much coal. The "best" things (in my opinion) to feed hatches for coal is clay from deodorizers (get polluted water bottles offgassing and you'll be swimming in clay), sedimentary rock (useless for construction) and igneous rock (from volcanoes and melting/cooling regolith). Note: You need to convert normal hatches to stone hatches by feeding them sedimentary rock befor they can eat igneous. fishoutofwater
breed sage hatch, can clear slime and get coal too. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101002-morph/#findComment-1135986 Share on other sites
Sasza22
Sage hatch produces more coal but eats slime, algae and dirt and those are hard to renew. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101002-morph/#findComment-1136036 Share on other sites
Neotuck
I breed hatches early and here is my suggestions based on my experience: If you keep the stables close together a rancher can handle 3 or 4 full stables in one cycle Keep some normal hatches if you use the terrarium + deodorizer trick to make extra O2 as you'll have plenty of clay Breed some stone hatches as you'll have plenty of sedimentary and igneous rock on the map to spare Sage hatches is good for quick coal but you'll run out of dirt and slime quick so don't rely on them long term Some smooth hatches are worth it too as you'll get more refined metals than you'll get from the rock crusher Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101002-morph/#findComment-1136115 Share on other sites
