Cooling water for plants

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to make a cooling system for plants using hot water, so it cools down to below 25 and sometimes it points out cold damage.

is a complicated and expensive and time consuming system, it would be easier for me to clean the dirty water, this only for the showers but I do not want the base to get warmer because of this water.

You can get cold damage even using proper automation and temperature control if your output backs up so keep that in mind as well.

This.

You'll want to put the cooled water into a buffer (like a pool with insulated walls) before pumping it to your plants. With a hydro sensor you can then set a limit for the pool water level so there'll always be enough room for the chilled water to drain into, keeping the pipes clear.

An easy thing you can do is make a little loop, diverted by bridge priority. On this loop place an inverted element sensor and send it to an and gate with your pipe thermo sensor, that way if the loop ever gets liquid it can shut down the aquatuner completely.

As long as the vent is clear, or your output pipe is clear, then everything just runs as normal

once the vent backs up - the water hits the extra loop and toggles the element sensor, which disables the aquatuner

easy.

That's actually a good idea. I'll try that out in my next build.

ok we have cool water now we need a way to tell these dupes to stop grabbing 200 C dirt and dropping it on my mealwood

I cool my dirt by storing in my cool slush cistern and having it run on a long output rail before being delivered to my farms.
