ArunPrasath
Hey all, Is there any reason why Electrolyzer outputs gases at 70 degrees? Its a pain to use it like that. Sure, there are workarounds, but I'm wondering why its done like this. Surely it should be fixed by the devs? @Ipsquiggle Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/100521-why-does-electrolyzer-output-gases-at-70-degrees/ Share on other sites
Coolthulhu
So that you aren't tempted to immediately switch to it as soon as it is researched but before you secure a food source more hardy than mealwood. That 70C isn't a huge problem. Just keep it away from the plants and you can ignore it otherwise. fredhp
Just put some wheezeworts near heat sensitive places ( like your farm ) to keep it cool until you can build some better cooling solution. Madbro
Scientific reason: Electrolysing requires strong power supply directly. When strong currents flows through conductors, some energy are loss to be other forms of energy such as heat. (based on my knowledge) If you ask about the real reason for the constant temperature output, I think I can’t help you with my limited knowledge, cause this is game mechanisms. 16 minutes ago, fredhp said: Just put some wheezeworts near heat sensitive places ( like your farm ) to keep it cool until you can build some better cooling solution. Remarks: Never use AETN as electrolysing plant cooler unless neccessary. Multiple wheezworts are actually more helpful without eating up hydrogen. fredhp
Dont need to build an electrolizing with cooling and all thing.... what i do is to just install the electrolyzer somewhere, and deal with the heat later. To deal with the heat, my strategy is, when designing the base i leave enough space to install pipes for a water cooling system. Use normal (non insulated) pipes - any material can be used - the idea is to cool the entire living area in a consistent way, i try to keep it at 20C. Polluted water as coolant medium is very good for the living area. A tip: Don't connect the aquaturners directly to the big cooling loop - make two loops - a small one with the aquaturners, and the big one that goes to the base. Use a heat exchanger to transfer heat between both. This way, with automation, you can make the system work like your home air conditioner (it turns on when temperature is above some value, and turns off when below), saving power while keep the main loop running. Once the desired base temperature is achieved, aquaturners will be off most of the time.
