Computer-7 Posted December 8, 2018 Share Posted December 8, 2018 now that Aporkalypse is out it really reminds me of the ruins with all the shadow creatures and dangers trying to kill you but there is a couple flaws that ruin it there is no reward and you can avoid it easily. Whats the problem? you are risking you life for a season that never ends for no reward and since its now Aporkalypse its now nearly impossible to stop if you haven't unlocked the calendar especially if you have no idea it exists Aporkalypse should end not quickly and not by the button. After it starts the calendar shouldn't reverse it for free you should have to fuel it with something the herald drops or maybe defeating them could fuel it every herald that dies should calm down the effects of the Aporkalypse a little reversing the clock. I'll just explain a couple of ways it could work. Idea 1 fight against the Aporkalypse as the Aporkalypse starts you it will be more tame at the start but slowly ramp up until it hits half of the cap part where heralds will start to spawn as you kill them you gain a special resource or the clock with reverse slightly this special resource can be used to either reverse the clock or use it to make new items such as armor, weapons, magic staffs ect, but if you take to long to stop the Aporkalypse it will cap off and a new boss or something could spawn which will not stop hunting you like the herald but instead of just wandering around it could teleport to the player every so often Aporkalypse will end either when the clock is reversed or this boss it killed Idea 2 wait out the storm Aporkalypse will end after a while fighting will end it quicker, but the more you fight the more attention you will gain causing the effects of Aporkalypse to be more targeted at you and after a while a boss with spawn killing it will instantly end the event. anyway I just feel like the Aporkalypse could use some improvements as having to cross the entire world just to skip this event which is really fun feels like a waste of time and excitement kinda like roc even then if Klei adds some drops to the herald I would be satisfied. It has a special animation for killing them, and has some temp art in the files for a fully constructed hulk. orian34 Posted December 11, 2018 Share Posted December 11, 2018 To be fair, I think that the aporkalypse should not be infinite. It needs to stop after a while, maybe in a crescendo with an absurd amount of danger, maybe everything going up in flames and all, until it stops. I find that making it never stop until you find a clock in a ruin somewhere without a single hint about it is a bit counter-intuitive with everything DS has done in the past. Oh, and for a reward, accordingly to apocalypses, the world becomes severely damaged, and the next step is regrowth! So after the aporkalypse ends, there would be 3 days or a week where natural resources regrow, like rainforest trees, some dung bettles piles appear etc. The entire wildlife springs back after such a hard hit. Though it means it'd need to be really devastative during the event. Maybe even meteors, fires, earthquakes, thunderstorms, and fun things.
