Is this a bug with Roc Cave? Help?

Recommended Posts

I got kidnapped by the Roc, as we all do, in a bit of a pinch, if I am honest. I was hoping to get back quickly as I had some neat items I wanted to get back to the village with.

But lo and behold, the Roc cave took me to the Third Island, the one with the Fountain of Youth, which I hadn't been to before, and yet was filled to the absolute brim with Rapid Beetles.

Are we supposed to land on another Island because of the Roc Cave? Or is this a bug?

Every time I've played it's taken me to the first one.

On the last game I had, it took me to the second Pig Village, so that's why I thought it was random.

Maybe you just got pretty lucky with your previous play-throughs?

Maybe, but I'd like to know for sure. Could be percentage thing, with 60% to land on the first island and 10% for the rest. Heck I dunno.

The roc cave can lead to ANY cave cleft. Your starting island has significantly more cave clefts than the others, so it's more likely, but there's risk involved.

I see this as a good thing, because otherwise the roc island is free gems and scepter. If you land on an island you haven't explored yet, there is significant risk in getting back through the ruins without the help of a base or most of the pig shops, so you have to think twice before letting the roc take you. (Also good encouragement to open up the paths to them in the ruins quickly, instead of taking your time)

Question, where do the gems come from? The petrified eggs?

Yeah, you're very likely to get 2~4 gems out of the eggs. Most of the time you can get at least one red and blue gem for a smelter and sprinkler.

If you take the first roc kidnapping you can generally have a sprinkler up fast enough to guarantee all the nettles you need for the first Lush season! Or, you can end up on Fountain island surrounded by rabid bettles before you know the path back to base through the ruins and just die...

This is why my first priority when exploring is abigail
