  1. So guys, i dont think, that this is ok ... :C They are too many to deal with them and they are quite overpowered with group size and speed. And 2nd thing is , that if u re unlucky, u can just got instakilled by Roc, that not rly fair, when u dont know, where he can land his big foots... :C
  2. I got kidnapped by the Roc, as we all do, in a bit of a pinch, if I am honest. I was hoping to get back quickly as I had some neat items I wanted to get back to the village with. But lo and behold, the Roc cave took me to the Third Island, the one with the Fountain of Youth, which I hadn't been to before, and yet was filled to the absolute brim with Rapid Beetles. Are we supposed to land on another Island because of the Roc Cave? Or is this a bug?
  3. I don't know if it works, and I don't want to be told whether it does or not (I like to find out on my own): If the bush hat doesn't already, I would like to see it work for hiding you from the giant bird. If its in the sky and you bush-hat, it should just fly away without ever landing (IMO), and if it lands and you bush hat, give it a 50/50 chance or something that it lost site of you, gets confused, and leaves. =-=-=-= Not Very Important: Detailed Reasoning Follows =-=-=-=-=-= The bird ate me several times, and took me to the nest several times, when there's nothing for me to do there but go through the caves and go back home. It was actually rather boring, and while a little annoying, more boring. It was particularly boring that the bird seems to take two or three in-game days to bother landing, so I'd wait for it to land so it doesn't land on me, and that's boring, and then it might or might not take me, and if it takes me, its just a boring trek back home. Sure the bird is an obstacle like the bats or anything else, there's some sanity loss, and it could catch a person at the wrong time and they're not prepared to survive, but as any obstacle there are easier and harder ways to deal with it. I'd like the bush hat to be one way to deal with it. - If the player wants to deal with the bird that way, they have to carry the hat with them or keep it nearby, which would be the trade off to dealing with the bird that way. (I wish the bush hat would trick the dogs in DST. - Last I Tried, it doesn't. I never tried in DS:ROG)
  4. Before Roc would go away if it could not get to me for few seconds, now it keeps chasing me Do I have to make it land to get rid of it? I don't want to go to new island again or risk death, I want to do other things.
  5. ROC attacked me during lush season instead of swallowing me. Possibly aggroed to crock pot? There was monster meat inside them.
  6. I just had a perfectly good game going with no mistakes and lost to getting stomped on in foggy season (wearing a pith hat, not slowed). The game beforehand feels pretty pointless if the whole game's gonna come down to a throw-up of being in the right spot of a shadow anyways. Is there just some specific place I need to be in the shadow to dodge it? When the roc is landing the shadow doesn't seem to have very well defined feet. I don't know why they couldn't make the feet fall slower to make the death feel more like a legitimate mistake than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  7. Yes I know Hamlet is in ever access. The Roc is such a waste of potential at this point its a flying Bigfoot that also happens to take you to the 4th island which would be cool if the 4th island had any reason to exist the only reason to go there is 2 items which can be gotten on your first trip, and items you get are so important but the way you get them is so anticlimactic that when you go there you will be in more shock due to the fact that's it other than the fact you just got eaten by a 3 headed bird that is the size of a small island. My main problems with Roc 1 Its completely harmless unless you run into its feet as it lands other than that it doesn't hurt you. 2 it does so little all roc does is take you to the 4th island which almost anything else could do that like the cave you unlock by getting to the island. 3 it feels like half of its missing it hypes itself up slowly getting bigger then landing then starts chasing the player somewhat awkwardly eats you then you appear on the 4th island your completely fine as it flies away and you get 2 rare items that you can't get anywhere else feels like the middle is just cut out you suddenly appear on the 4th island as if something happened but you missed it somehow. Things that I would like changed or added to the Roc 1 Let me fight it I don't care who fruitless the effort would be or how much I would have to prepare it would be a amazing fight 2 Befriend or ride Roc we still don't have a method of regening our world roc might work maybe it flies you to a new landmass which would be a new world or if you befriend Roc you get a item that can call it and take you to other islands. 3 make surviving it a challenge the thing is 200x your size and its less threatening than a frog make roc attack the play or make it use its grab if the player runs to far or attack the player in any way shape or form other than it accidentally stomping on you when it lands. 4 make surviving it have any kind of effect in the update that added roc in the note it said "I hear anyone surviving a one on one with the Roc gets pretty famous." and judging by what roc is now they definitely didn't mean irl so can we get anything out of this? I don't even think anything changes and even then its not noticeable Anyway this was everything I think is wrong with roc and I really hope Klei adds more to the Roc cause at this point it really doesn't need to exist
  8. So I keep seeing posts referring to the Roc as a “boss”, but as of now it is just a minor inconvenience, due to the fact that it’s only purpose is to bring you to it’s nest. So my idea is that if you happen to already be in it’s nest when it spawns, it will get angry and attack the player, therefore initiating an actual boss fight. The fight would go something like this: in order to damage the Roc itself, one would have to attack the legs first. The legs would have no set amount of HP, rather they would need to be chopped with an axe in a similar fashion to Birchnut Treeguards, and would take 20 chops of an axe each. The legs would have an attack similar to that of Bigfoot, but with a shorter (maybe 1/2) attack delay. The legs would do 100 DMG per hit, and uproot/destroy any resources or structures they hit. Once both legs are chopped down, the Roc would fall over, allowing the head to be attacked. The head would have 3000 HP, and have 2 attacks. One of them would be an AOE bite attack dealing 150 DMG to all mobs in range. The other would be similar to the Goose/Goose’s honk. The Roc would make a screeching noise that would make the player drop their weapon, but as the Roc is much larger, the screech would be much louder, so it would also have the same effects as the Womant’s whistle. I’ve also noticed that the Roc has relatively large nostrils, so maybe it could have an attack similar to the Ewecus’s snot? Anyway, as the player attacks the head, the legs would have time to recover, and the Roc would be able to get back up and resume it’s stomping rampage. When the legs are fully recovered, they would have to be chopped down again, therefore repeating the entire process. To make the Roc worth fighting, it would have two drops: the stone egg would be one of them rather than simply sitting in the nest, and the other would be a Roc beak, which would be used to craft a Hamlet version of the old bell (10 uses instead of 3, due to the fact that the Roc would be harder to kill than Glommer, and instead of summoning Bigfoot it would summon another (albeit neutral) Roc to come stomp on things. I thought of this idea because of the sound the Roc’s feet make). So anyway, that is my idea for the Roc. tell me what you think!
  9. I got it once but wasn’t ready, so I hid inside until it left. Now I’m wondering when and if it will come back.
  10. Roc.

It's ground pounding beak damage(well it actually cannot being seen in this bug) is 4000, if those tin armour and helm provide 90% GDR each. Similar as volcano's meteor before nerf I guess?
