THEM and Langoliers

Recommended Posts

I just finished Stephen King's Langoliers and something about the way a character commented on their purpose made me think about what these events could be leading to-

Quote
' 'Why,what happens to today when it becomes yesterday, what happens to the present when it becomes the past. It waits - dead and empty and deserted. It waits for them. It waits for the time-keepers of eternity, always running along behind, cleaning up the mess in the most efficient way possible ... by eating it.'

Think about it: The Forge is a gladitorial event of the past, Quagmire/Gnaw seems to be Victorian. Our main cast might be going through corrupted versions of our time to explore, conquer and track more time portals. It's just a theory but my apophenia lead me to a connection. Charlie is just a agent of TIME.

Seems kinda far-fetched, but then again Don't Starve's history does include a kingdom made up of shrimp who ate carrots and prolly bees, too. Still, very interesting. Maybe the different realms were made by Them, and sort of formed into their own societies, but the modern Them want to rebuild an empire or reconquer.
