Updated stack-able Greenhouse

Recommended Posts

Finished my latest greenhouse design for sleet wheat, bristle blossom, and pincha pepperplant.  All of them have the temp and pressure fully automated.  And I have sweepers collect the harvest20180217003641_1.thumb.jpg.fd41200cda52533baac2f0044f3accf7.jpg

Sleet wheat was the most tricky had to use a thermo-nullifier to keep the water at an even 5C without freezing the pipes

pulling heat away from the ceiling lights

Are you sure they're not putting heat into your ceiling tiles?

Tempshift plates have been a little buggy recently - and if placed next to tiles, they were heating up the tiles themselves, even abyssalite.

Got a thermal screenie ?

I'll remove them and see if there's much difference after a few cycles 20180217011641_1.thumb.jpg.ee12c0d55b1f8b20d24aeb6d3816335b.jpg

It's been about 5 cycles and the temp on the blossoms have been steady at 12C (same as before) but the air looks warmer near the ceiling.  What do you think @Lifegrow?20180217012721_1.thumb.jpg.35e6150b4c0c35534c22ae7901d5aaf0.jpg

i use tempshift to redirect the heat to a certain area or object (can be tile), so i think your tempshift is good

Here's the kitchen I have the rails lead to.  Simple set up with the sweeper  putting crops into the grills them sweeps the pepper bread and stuffed berries into the refrigerators 20180217015702_1.thumb.jpg.c45b19c8a2aab746186cc5972b9bc8ec.jpg

second one, you can use the deconstruct tool and select background buildings.

No i'm not talking about the backwall hotfix, more like "My tempshift plate has warmed up an abyssalite tile at an alarming rate" kind of buggy :D

May have been stealth fixed.

I was looking at this the other day. I only tested it for around 10 cycles.

Abyssalite standard tiles still change temperature quite rapidly when in contact with a plate.

Insulated abyssalite tiles had no change during the same time. I was in debug mode.

Ahhh Well that's good to know - I rarely use insulated tiles, but maybe they have a use now :D

I didn't know if the bug was still active or not that's why I have a space between my temp plates and insulated tiles20180217113715_1.thumb.jpg.c14d8b0bff941a3901b8ff0b8cf80d47.jpg

piping/ wiring for the nullifier?^-^

ok I'm pretty proud that I figured out how to get exact 5C water from this ^-^20180217115452_1.thumb.jpg.0415617bfbfe857caa05f958ab74d707.jpg20180217115508_1.thumb.jpg.f3fef9a21682bad2eb7448a66ddbfbab.jpg20180217115459_1.thumb.jpg.c144f77058421a653890fe3c327355e8.jpg

Also I forgot to show the automation in the last reply, here you go ^-^ (the temp sensor above the sleet wheat is connected to the air pump in the nullifier)

Wait, aren't your insulated tiles made of abyssalite then? I just noticed their colours...

The bit I was referring to was the top of your bristle room - looks like you could be transferring heat into the walls there.

That was my intention, I was trying to pull heat from the lamps and let it get absorbed by the ceiling tiles.  It works but wasn't necessary as the water being pumped in is 12C and keeps the bristles cool.  Did you see my earlier reply?

Ahhh sorry, missed that post - It definitely seems like the heat was being pulled away or at least spread around - i'd just be concerned as to where that heat was going - i.e. if it's going into the tiles will they eventually (like in 50 cycles say) start getting a bit warm ?

I just took this screenshot and I been running this colony on superspeed since last night to see if any problems come up.  It's been over 100 cycles since I put the temp plates back in20180217121809_1.thumb.jpg.5cbb577773f6742d033a906129447ff6.jpg

kind of a side question, but I'm a bit intrigued by your door system. Can you elaborate a bit on it? I guess the middle door being open has the effect of having no heat transfer between the 2 other doors.  Is automation just there to create a vacuum after dupes go through? Does the system seal gases well between the room and the outside?

Yes when a dupe runs over the switch the middle door will close and re open after 10 seconds.  Both the buffer and filter are set to 5 seconds20180216085557_1.thumb.jpg.3f2ec4405f12d9cf5d31e6de1a10ad4d.jpg
