Couple of general suggestions for Hamlet Additions

After spending quite a few hours over the last few days playing Hamlet, I've gathered up a few small things I think would be good additions to the DLC.

Addition Suggestions:

  • Oinc wallet / way to convert 10 Oincs to tenpiece Oincs / a bank to hold Oincs and convert them (There is already a banker pig anyways, just move him from the general store to a bank)
  • Some sort of identifier for Pigs that you have already traded with that day. A lot of times I'll be going and trading with a bunch of the feather ladies and due to the fact they look the same and are always moving around, I can't tell who I have already traded with (plus I don't know how many there are total in the city so I can't go based on how many feathers I have already traded)
  • Adding onto that, maybe more variety of pigs? At least maybe visually, as in maybe like 2-3 different variations of florists or etc. Or just maybe overall a few new pigs (like maybe a Chef who trades for meats/ingredients?)
  • House upgrades: Being able to have multiple rooms in the house would be awesome, but if that isn't super doable, I think just simply being able to expand the size itself would be great.
  • These are just some tiny things, but I think it would be really cute if there was more like, pig-culture type things. Like maybe a clothing store where you can buy cute/cool special clothing in, be able to buy special pig craftsmanship decor/weapons/etc. I just love little detail stuff to really bring the pig cities to life :)

    Little Complaints:
  • I know the purpose of the deep rainforest screen obstructions is just that, to obstruct the player's vision, but sometimes it is honestly Too Much. The oversaturation of fauna that for the most part you cannot get rid of, plus the screen thing, plus a million little snaptooth seedlings rushing you, can be a bit suffocating. Maybe I'm just being a weenie, either way its a small complaint regardless.

I probably have more suggestions but I just wanted to write these all out first before I forget.

You could buy an artifact and sell it back for 10 oincs (I've never done it, but it should work).

I kinda like the where's waldo game and trying to keep track of who I've traded with, but I'd also be alright with some indicator. Perhaps they could be holding the item until they go home..?

The pigs have a look based on what they buy, if they change the looks too much, they should make them buy different things, and that's a lot more work and changes the game too.

More rooms and size I'm sure could be doable on one level, though I don't know if the code restricts it since I'm not on their team, but as a programmer I imagine its doable. Perhaps when upgrading the outside look of the house it could add rooms or something, but then there's issues of changing back... and well, why not just make multiple houses? That's what I do now. And, we've already got out house now! An actual house in Don't Starve! - I'd be alright if they leave it as is, especially since I can build multiple houses anyway.

Skins for Don't Starve? I'd rather them put their efforts into other things. :-/

I find those obstructions interesting and have been attacked unexpectedly because of them.

I did consider that maybe the different variations could get rather confusing. That's why all these are just little suggestions, I of course would prefer for them to focus on more major things if its these or those. You're right about the just making multiple houses, I just felt it would be nice to have just one connected structure (like how the palace has multiple rooms). And about the oincs, I think having a sort of dedicated (or maybe not dedicated but just little simple method) to trade both from large to small and small to large would be great. I hadn't originally thought about that artifact trick though!
Also after I made this post and played a bit more, I found myself not minding the obstructions as much as I did previously, so I was in fact just being a weenie. Thank you so much for such a nice response to my post! It's awesome actually have someone leave an in-depth response about it and discuss it!
