psusi
So I thought I had blocked 4 of my steam turbine's 5 ports by placing a metal tile under them, but I just realized that the tile underneath that has steam, and the animation makes it look like it is taking in that steam, and it isn't giving me the port blocked error message, so... are these actually blocked? unmog
Looks blocked to me~ as a side note, I wish theyd just make the steam generator like everything else and just include in and out vents :/ Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/98365-steam-turbine-blocked-ports/#findComment-1114446 Share on other sites
crypticorb
As I'm sure you're aware, the blocked ports exploit allows the same 2kW power generation for only 1/5 the steam pushed through. Blocked port detection is... inconsistent. I blocked ports for a while and sometimes it would whine and complain about blocked ports, but it always still functioned fine. Once I perfected the build, it made power generation pretty much trivial, to the point of making the game boring. I suspect that steam turbines will be fixed in the next upcoming months, along with all the rest of the rebalancing changes. psusi
Yea, the blocked port message has come back now. 16 hours ago, unmog said: Looks blocked to me~ as a side note, I wish theyd just make the steam generator like everything else and just include in and out vents :/ It eats 2kg/s of steam per port and pipes can only carry 1kg/s. For people that do care about deleting a massive amount of steam I'd just say include more intake ports? In general I think it'd be better if it used in and out ports... like everything else in the game does. Petrol gens have no output and just spew both out. The electrolyzer and deoxydizer just spew out the gas instead of using pipes. I'm sure there's a few more. I guess thats true, tho they still have an input. I guess thats the heart of the issue, if we could just pump in steam with a pipe and have it exit into the surroundings that'd be fine with me too really, and probably easier. The point is theres always at least an input.
