Is there a way to fix this, or do I have to reload to before the rocket was launched? Does it have to do with the gantry that is somehow extended? A very janky space-based update sadly with a lot of bugs. If you save/load or crash whilst your rocket is on a mission - there's a very high chance it won't return home intact. It's got nothing to do with the gantry, it's just bad implementation and a lack of testing on Kleis part. Makes those 30 cycle round trips take an age when you get to a late game fps-hit base. Workaround: load 2 cycles before disappearance (sometimes work) Prevention: 1. Do not load save 'cycle before landing' 2. When you see your rocket landing intact, save seconds before it touches. It usually prevents crash and in case of crash you will load to see fully landed rocket. P.S. My advice might be a bit obsolete if I missed any patches, but it worked for me so far. I strongly suggest complaining there ^^ behavior changed slightly but otherwise bug still valid.
