Space station help

Recommended Posts

0. Prepare a lot of steel before going to space.

1. Build ladder up to the space many people build to the limit (red zone) but I personally leave some gap. You might not want to build straight up from your base try to have some corner or a lucky meteor will go into middle of your base and cause heat chaos.

2. Build bunker doors or tiles across the map. So you don't have to worry about rain of meteor.

3. Figure out how to place your radar to open and close bunker when needed.

4. Place your telescope somewhere and change dupe shift that use telescope to work at night to avoid sunburn (Who want to see the stars in midday).

5. For your rocket station or base first thing you will need is enclose your base and then fill it with backwall and make airlock or water lock at entrance.

6. If you build rocket station make sure its very tall or you will have problem later on when you don't have space for space rocket.

7. Build everything that space related.

8. Find a way to clear out debris.

9. Fill the leftover ground with solar panel.

10. Try to make a good use of regolith.

if you are unsure how tall your rocket will need to be, make sure there are no structures underneath

It's easy to adjust the size of your rocket platform by digging down

Here's a picture of how I always start my space stations, I always start of in the upper right hand corner of the map and build a safe room with bunker tiles for meteor protection

fill it with jet suit docks and from there build the rest of my space station (starting with bunker doors at the top)

Yu should leave 1 tile space between the bunker tiles and the insulated tiles. Meteors can damage the tile under the bunker tiles. I would also extend the bunker tiles by 2 to the left so that a meteor comming at an angle won`t hit the airlock.

not unless you can heat it up past it's melting point

Aren`t those made of neutronium?

Yep. They also used to be deconstructable. I'm not sure if thats still the case.

there was a gap before, the insulated tiles and airlock was built after I made the bunker door shield

No I meant the walls. I remember deconstructing them and wondering what these black lumps were.
