Liquid Helium

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I didn't know it was possible, and didn't found any topic on the forum, but the newly added space-age materials made the single wettest dream of any mad scientist come true : condensing helium !

Well this is a mess, obviously, but hell yeah I like it, even if it serves absolutely no purpose. If only ONI could handle pressure in a proper way, we could solidify it and die happily right after, because well, nothing else left to do (or maybe sublimate tungsten ?)

Cheers

What are the properties of helium, compared to hydrogen or oxygen?

What possible chemical reactions would Klei potentially add that use this element?

Helium compared to hydrogen : 20% lower thermal conductivity (still very high for a gas), specific heat is almost 20 times lower.

Helium is almost completely inert, they will probably not add any chemical reaction with it. However, it is widely used as a coolant in some specific thermal application, aswell as in nuclear reactors, because of its transparency to neutrons and thus isn't altered and does not create any radioactive isotope. Other than adding something nuclear, I can't imagine any use Klei woudl have of it.

Huh, I didn't know that about helium, and now I do. Learn something new every day playing ONI.

Someone should make a mod that if a dupe passes through helium, all their sound animations sound squeakier for a day. Just for fun.
