First rocket old problems

Recommended Posts

Today i build my first rocket, and i find the first bugs (reported). It seems that if you build (try to) the steam engine without the horizontal base is already build, the game crash. I said ok build first the infrastructure then build the rocket. After build the rocket to the sensor show the rocket. I said ok. Then send my astronaut and wait for the atmo suits. Second bug. If you have several atmo suits, the dupes delivered all to the rocket even if only one is needed. I deconstruct the command module and recover my dupe and my suits. Then the third bug. The sensor sens only meteors. Not sure what is the reason for it, even if i rebuild the command module no rocket for the sensor...

Bad stuf:

1 from the first time i build the observatory , and until i finish the 200 astronomic research points, i have an input of 600 tones regolith :(

2 whit the steam engine i can go only for the first planet...5 trips i 250 planetarium research point...so 150 research point needed from the observatory so more regolith :(

Good stuff:

I have one rocket build

There are more bugs there(((

My rocket keeps leaking steam bottles. Steam is ridiculously overheated when you launch rocket (Why???). I didn't got the 50 research promised by UI from research module.

I haven't tried it yet, by I suspect that you can stack one engine over another to increase range.

Again, haven't tried, but we can take more then one research module to cut down number of trips.

Not sure what does this mean. Regolith never stops... Do you meant that you observatory gets covered in regolith tiles? That can be avoided either by pre-cleaning bunker doors above observatory or by placing doors below observatory to let regolith fall safely without overheating observatory (door above are still needed obviously)

Input of regolith stops if you don't open the bunker doors, some are deleted (what is after the second row above the no build zone), but for observatory you need to open the bunker door...In 32 tiles space (3 bunker doors for rocket and scanner, 5 for observatories and scanner) in let say 30 cycle - 50 cycle the total input of regolith is 600 tones :(

For the heating problem i deconstruct and reconstruct the observatory...losing the oxygen..an sweep the regolith in storage containers...

Placing doors under isn't possible. There i have saturnus regolith smelter improved for testing...I want to see when the steam generator whit chlorine clamp will stop working.

Down sides... melt 1 tone at 2 - 3 cycle, up side... you get rid of some regolith...

I started already to build a pit from the vacuum to the magma portion of the map for transporting the regolith down and the magma up....

The steam bottle bug i didn't encounter ... yet

If the rocket doesn't destroy the steam generators (and i think it does), the pump will not break at 1000 degrees (and we don't have pumps that works at that range of temperatures) , yes you could capture it for a steam generator.

Back of the napkin, no idea if this'll work - steam gen off to the side of the rocket path near the top of the room with its lower half exposed to where the steam will be trapped, seal the rocket+generator room after the rocket leaves, have a decent bit of a heavy, low heat transfer gas in the room (chlorine?) to push the steam toward the top of the room.. profit? Not sure where to vent the lower temp steam coming off the generator, maybe just straight into space.

That or door pumps I guess.

There is simply not enough steam to make it viable and steam will go through turbine from thousands degrees to output temp in one go. It will have far higher efficiency if you build shift plates behind and below rocket and connect them to isolated turbine chamber.

Either way steam is too hot without reason so it likely will be fixed.
