Shipping material like slime from a swamp biome to storage while mixed with stuff like clay and sedimentary rock is currently a pain to sort out. This would introduce a MUCH improved means of cleaning up things. It would also give us the option of auto-sorting inventory systems, by having a loop in the storage system that allows a set of distributing sweepers to collect materials onto the conveyor, and sort them into the correct boxes. On the same thought process, why not conveyer temperature sensors? Shipping hot stuff from the surface, or from a volcano can potentially melt equipment it passes, so diverting anything hot to a separate storage would be awesome.
