Slavs tend to not give a crap when it comes to using English in video games. Trust me- I'm Polish. Everytime some Polish player notices my nick they start speaking Polish. If you were anywhere around south america your ping would match you with Brazil players 90% of the times, so based only on that I could say "all the playerbase is Brazilian" which is not, its just the largest playerbase around where I live. Which BTW is not a bad thing, BR's are cool and most play DST very well, they won't speak english to you though. The best forge and gorge games I had were with brazilian players. I'm American*, but I play at weird very late night/early morning hours a lot of the time, so it's not that uncommon for me to get (western) Europeans showing up, because they're the main ones awake. Come Winter's Feast or a big content drop or a team event, however, I'm suddenly WAY more likely to see people typing in Chinese symbols or the Cyrillic alphabet all of a sudden. I once played an entire Gorge game with people from Serbia, and we couldn't talk to each other at all. That went well. XD Popular things make people from all over click on whatever's open no matter how bad the ping is, because it's open, and that can FURTHER skew your perceptions of where the game's fans come from. But do I suddenly go "Wow, this game's fanbase is so Chinese!" (even though it kinda is) Nah, I'm like, "Oh yeah, I'm up at a weird hour for my timezone and it's Christmas." : P ...Notorious *And for some reason my OWN server is in the next state over, even though there's plenty of techy stuff in my own state. wut.
