Craigjw
I'm trying to make some stone hatches, but I'm not having much luck with the 2% chance. I'm reasonably sure that feeding creatures different foods will alter the chance for laying different egg types, I've searched on this and not found anything. Does anyone have any suggestion on how is the best way to get Stone hatches? I can get Sage hatches no problem, If I feed them some Sedimentary, they seem to increase the Sage chance, although I haven't found a good food for Stone hatches. Djoums
Feed regular hatches sedimentary rock, you'll get stone hatches eggs. You can actually find the information ingame, click on a hatch and mouse over the reproduction chance.
Craigjw
I don't know why this wasn't working before. I swear all my hatches were at 60-70% chance of Sages, not Stones when I fed them on Sedimentary. Perhaps it was the detritus that was left on the floor. Thanks again. On slightly different topic, don't mix shine bugs in with the Sage hatches, the Sages eat the eggs, till you got 1 Shine bug left that's soon to be elderly! Neotuck
Sage hatch chances are increased by eating dirt, possible you had some dirt lying around your base when you first built it and wild hatches ate it When you tamed those hatches the increased sage chances were still there
