need a button to rescue incapacitated

Recommended Posts

There is already a "button". But it is immediately pressed.

Everytime a dupe is in need for help (and there exists another dupe) another dupe will have the order to save him. Unfortunately in some cases other orders will be even more important or he will not be in a position to save his friend. But the order is there and its execution is mostly up for your set priorities and the geographic situation.

Adding a button wouldnt change that fact. Unless you prefer dupes dying because you do not click the button and therefore no save-order exists yet.

well with only 5 peeps and a small base 2 died because they all ignored them so i think there are definately a bug. no reason to keep passing them and letting them die

at least if there is a button you can press you should force them priorities were set to normal btw so there wasn't any what you call pressing matters

You obviously had a med bed but what was the priority on it? With all individual priorities set to neutral they base what they do on the building priority. If they had a higher priority on cooking or cleaning the toilets they obviously did that before helping the poor incapacitated souls.

Another thing is where did they get stuck when incapacitated. Was there easy access there? How much oxygen was there? How did they actually get that damaged in a small base?

What's your lifesupport priority? Do you have the "smart priority" option turned on or off?

I really think that the default setting is already pretty high prioritized to allow dupe saving. So maybe we are looking at it the wrong way. Just as in everyday traffic the most important rule is "ensure your own safety before attempting rescueing others".

Were your other dupes in a position to save the dupe-sel in distress? Was there an applicable path? Maybe the "rescuers" had no exosuit on and were not able to reach the dupe due to lava/water or maybe fallen sand that was in the way. Or maybe their shift ended and it was "nighttime".

And as already hinted: do you have a (free) med bed?

Btw, did you notice the "RED ALERT" button in the upper part of the screen? Might this be the button you are asking for?

a button that you can hit to override whatever the nearest peep is doing would be great

Well there`s alkways the move command button. It will override what the dupe is doing and force him to move to a location. But after that he will do whatever his priorities tell him so might as well go back and keep doing waht he was doing.

Also in the priority screen there`s an "enable proximity" option in the top right corner. It will make sure the dupe always does the nearest task if the priorities are the same.
