maloki
The latest update was a huge boon to starving dupes, as they will now actually go eat if they are hungry and they should be sleeping, their calories wont immediately kill them if they are carrying food to their seating, thank you for these updates! However, if a dupe with say, slimelung, is going for food, but also needs to catch their breath on the way, they will likely die because as soon as they drop the food when they are 0 calories. This can also cause them to get stuck on stairs trying to bring food to their medbay, but they drop the food to the bottom of the stairs, rinse repeat until they run out of calories. Could this be solved with dupes having a small pocket/backpack for carried food items, so they can carry their food all the way even if they need to catch their breath along the way? Yannick Vachon
Or you could add a refrigerator in your med bay so they people do not need to go away to find something to eat. Put the limit to 10-20kg and select food only when you have a sick dupe in there for healing so the food does not spoil the rest of the time. Sure, its possible, but as far as i know, there is no way to determine if the med bay is used at the time. So food will rot over time.

Also you can use weight plates under the beds with some buffer sensors. There`s just no way to turn the food storage off via automation.
Yannick Vachon
Yeah, normally, you know that you dupe is sick, burned, freezing and so on since you get the notification from the top left menu. At that moment, just select the refrigerator and the food you want and people will fill it for your sick dupe to use.
