So where do I store them? But Dupes will deliver to ration boxes, so you are doing something wrong. You typically want the ration box or refrigerator priority at 9, so food does not lie around and rot after it is done. Soulwind Posted July 12, 2018 Share Posted July 12, 2018 In case you don't know, you have to also go into the container (ration box or fridge) and specify which foods are allowed to be stored. Fridges are more space efficient, but I prefer the look of the ration box. Just be sure they are down in.a co2 filled area. Zarquan Posted July 12, 2018 Share Posted July 12, 2018 If you are early in the game, you can put it in the ration box next to the printing pod. For some reason, it is defaulted to only accept the starting food (nutrient bars), but it can be set to accept all food if you select it. Later in the game, it is best to put it in CO2 to stop it form spoiling or chlorine to stop it from spoiling and killing all the germs. You also have to specify which food and ingredient items are to be stored in the refrigerator / ration box. Right click on the storage device, and make sure mush bars, lice loaf, etc... are checked to store them in the device. Food menu (actually all item menus) only shows items that you've "discovered". So until you dig up the first muckroot or harvest your first meallice, they don't show in the menu. New fridges automatically allow newly discovered foods to be stored in it. Soulwind Posted July 12, 2018 Share Posted July 12, 2018 When you've got a partial list selected (where it's showing a dot rather than a checkmark) new items in that category are not selected as they become available. Since the free ration box starts with bars only selected, nothing new is activated unless you go in and turn it to a checkbox.
